NAP of the Capital Region

Terremark is embarking on one of the most innovative datacenter projects in the world - the NAP of the Capital Region. 

Located in Culpeper, VA, the NAP of the Capital Region (NCR) will provide state of the art managed services and unparalleled security and connectivity. The NCR is specifically designed to exceed Uptim Institute Tier III standards as a carrier-grade Federal data communications and hosting facility offering the ultimate in physical security.

The campus will consist of up to five independent datacenter structures and a secure office building. Inside each datacenter, a professional security staff maintains and operates sophisticated video surveillance systems, biometric scanners and secured areas for processing of staff, customers and visitors.

Terremark's complete suite of network, security and managed hosting services will be available to NCR customers.

NAP of the Americas

Terremark's flagship datacenter in Miami, Florida, is one of the largest and most connected datacenters in the world.

This Tier-IV facility was the first purpose-built, carrier-neutral Network Access Point and brings together massive and diverse connectivity from more than 160 carriers with some of the world's largest and most demanding websites.

Location
Located in Miami, it is ranked as one of the top-five most connected cities in the world, ahead of San Francisco, Chicago and Washington, DC., and the only city in the country where optical, ethernet, voice and Internet traffic are handed off in one location. Switching the majority of South America, Central America and the Caribbean's layer-1, layer-2 and layer-3 traffic bound to more than 148 countries in the world makes this datacenter the unrivaled gateway to the Americas.

Security
The NAP of the Americas has a centrally-located Command Center manned by security personnel 24 hours a day, monitoring all security camera, guard building entrance and exit access points, and control key-card access to elevators, floors and roof areas. In addition, environmental sensors notify tenants and mobilize rescue in case of emergency.

Connectivity 
More than 160 carriers exchange data at the NAP of the Americas. Seven Tier-1 service providers provide us with our upstream access to the global Internet. Terremark requires these service providers to have at least OC-48 capacity to maintain connectivity to our network. With a wide selection of 15 domestic fiber backbones in our facilities, we are able to provide heightened performance and quickly add virtually any carrier required by our downstream clients.

Resource Pools
The Enterprise Cloud gives customers a discrete, dedicated pool of compute resources (CPU, memory, and storage) where you create and manage your own virtual servers. You can also control load balancers and firewall resources allocated to your environment without requiring specialized knowledge or assistance. All of this through an easy-to-use Web console.

Burst Mode

Array-Based Replication

This service is available for both virtual and physical servers and enables recovery of in individual servers and applications. The advantage of Terremark's host-based replication approach is that their service replicates the entire virtual machine, not just the data.
