WorldGate Launches Authorized Agent Program to Support the Demand for SMB and Enterprise Video Collaboration Solutions

  • Channel to Lead Distribution of the Affordable, High-Quality Ojo ProVision Desk Top Video Communication Solution
  • Award-Winning Solution Fills Significant Market Gap between Low-End, PC-Based Apps and Expensive Telepresence Systems
  • Company Announces Agent Program Leadership and Participation in Channel Partners Conference

TREVOSE, Pa. (March 9, 2011) WorldGate, one of the highest volume video phone manufacturers in the world and a leading provider of digital voice and video communications services, today announced the launch of its newly established Authorized Agent Program.

On December 14, 2010, WorldGate launched the Ojo ProVision digital video phone and service offering for businesses — a turn-key managed solution providing the highest quality video phone experience, on-demand, right from the desk top. In early February 2011, the Ojo ProVision was named a 2010 Product of Year by Internet Telephony Magazine.

“We’re very enthusiastic about the Ojo ProVision solution,” said Matt Harty, President and CEO of Converged Network Services Group (CNSG) - a leading telecommunications consultancy/master agency and Ojo Authorized Agent Partner. “The demand and trends we’re seeing today with our customers point directly to the need to either expand video collaboration in their day to day operations to the desk top as a compliment to their existing telepresence systems, or to simply get started. The ProVision makes it easy - this solution strikes the perfect balance between cost effectiveness and ease of implementation…and the quality is outstanding,” added Mr. Harty. “Businesses clearly realize the benefits of face-to-face communication along with the productivity and cost savings that come with it.”

The Ojo Services Authorized Agent Program was created to fulfill the increasing demand for affordable, high-quality video calling and collaboration solutions across the SMB and enterprise markets, and is ideally-suited for telephony resellers, telecom agents, data VARS, and system integrators that serve the telephony needs of small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and larger enterprise organizations.

“The Program was designed from the ground up to help telephony resellers and agents take full advantage of the tremendous B2B opportunity that exists because of the enormous market gap between low-end PC-based video chat and expensive high-end telepresence systems,” said Allan VanBuhler, Senior Vice President Sales, Marketing and Business Development. “We’ve already signed up several new partners who clearly recognize the opportunity - the business applications for high-quality video communication and collaboration are almost limitless, with tremendous demand in areas like telemedicine, government, multi-location business, distance learning, human resources, and more.”

The Ojo Authorized Agent Program will be led by telecommunications industry veteran, Brian Quinn. Brian has recently been named Channel Program Director and joins WorldGate from XO Communications.

“We are thrilled to have Brian aboard,” said Barry MacCheyne, Vice President Global Sales. “His vast industry and Channel experience are critical as we develop and deliver a best-in-class program that fuels success for our partners -- and in turn, for this key segment of our business.”

The Program provides agents with a number of high-value benefits, including highly attractive NRC and MRC commissions, an innovative and differentiated product solution and an array of professional support tools:

  • Highly Competitive Pricing. Starting at hundreds not thousands of dollars, the Ojo ProVision, is dramatically less expensive than existing enterprise videoconferencing and telepresence alternatives.
  • Minimal Training Requirement. No complicated technical certifications or levels, and since the Ojo ProVision is a simple network overlay product and service solution, minimal training is needed.
  • Rapid Sales and Installation Cycle. With short sales cycles, plug and play installation, and a simple order and payout process, the Program is designed to make our partners productive and profitable.
  • Support. Dedicated channel sales management and engineering along with marketing and reporting tools to assist with a seamless end-to-end sales process.

The Company invites Agents and Partners to experience the Ojo ProVision first hand and meet the team at the Channel Partners Conference & Expo. WorldGate will be participating as an exhibitor (booth #1108) at this key communications industry event to be held March 13-15, 2011 in Las Vegas.
